The Challenge
The wine producer required a heating system capable of independently managing water and wine heating circuits to precise target temperatures — without cross-contamination risk or temperature deviation that could compromise wine quality. Existing manual systems were unreliable, inconsistent, and required excessive operator attention during critical production phases.
The Solution
Smitson Engineering CC engineered and installed a fully automated dual-circuit heating system with independent temperature control loops for water and wine. The system uses steam as the primary heat source, controlled via modulating control valves and process instrumentation. All product-contact surfaces were manufactured from food-grade 316 stainless steel to meet HACCP and beverage industry hygiene standards. Automation was achieved through a dedicated control panel with PLC logic and temperature transmitters providing set-point accuracy.
The Result
The client now operates a fully automatic, reliable heating system that maintains precise temperatures across both circuits without manual intervention.
